An AI agent is a piece of software that takes a goal, decides what actions to take, carries them out using tools, and repeats until the goal is met. The language model is its reasoning engine, not the agent itself.

AI voiceover is a computer-generated narration track created from a script using text-to-speech. It replaces or supplements a human narrator, often to speed up production and localize videos into many languages.

Agentic AI describes AI systems that pursue a goal over multiple steps by planning, calling tools, observing what happened, and adjusting, rather than producing a single response and stopping.

An agentic screen recorder is a screen recorder in which an AI agent performs the workflow itself and records the result, rather than capturing a session that a person performs.

Asynchronous video is recorded video that people watch, replay, and respond to on their own schedule instead of meeting live. It is commonly used for updates, training, and process documentation across time zones.

Burned-in subtitles are subtitles that are permanently rendered into the video image, so viewers cannot turn them off or change their style. They are also called hardcoded subtitles or open captions.

Captioning is the process of adding time-synced text to video that represents spoken dialogue and, when needed, important non-speech audio like music cues or sound effects. It helps viewers follow along without sound and improves accessibility, comprehension, and searchability.

Closed captions (CC) are optional on-screen text that represents spoken dialogue and important sound cues in a video. Viewers can usually turn them on or off, and they are commonly delivered as separate caption files like SRT or VTT.

Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the practice of structuring and writing content so generative AI engines can understand, trust, and cite it when they answer user questions.

A help article is a focused piece of support documentation that explains how to complete a task or fix a problem in a product or process. It typically includes step-by-step instructions, screenshots or short clips, and links to related information.

A help center is a self-serve support hub where customers or employees can find answers through searchable articles, step-by-step guides, and FAQs. It reduces repetitive tickets by making accurate help available at the moment of need.

A how-to video is an instructional video that teaches a specific task from start to finish using clear steps, visuals, and expected outcomes. It is designed so viewers can follow along and successfully repeat the process on their own.

An internal wiki is a private, searchable website where a company stores and maintains shared knowledge such as SOPs, runbooks, policies, and how-to guides. It is designed to help employees find the current way of doing things without asking around or digging through chat threads.

A job aid is a short, practical resource people use while doing a task to complete it correctly and quickly. It focuses on the minimum steps, checks, or decisions needed in the moment, not full training.

A knowledge base is a centralized, searchable library of information that helps people find answers and complete tasks without needing to ask someone directly. It typically includes how-to guides, troubleshooting steps, policies, and process documentation.

Knowledge management is the practice of capturing, organizing, sharing, and maintaining an organization's knowledge so the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

A large language model (LLM) is an AI system trained on very large amounts of text to understand and generate human language, predicting the most likely next words to produce fluent, context-aware responses.

A learning management system (LMS) is software that helps organizations deliver training, assign courses, track completion, and report on learning activity. It centralizes training content and learner records so teams can manage onboarding, compliance, and upskilling at scale.

Microlearning is a training approach that delivers one small, specific learning objective in a short lesson, typically 2 to 10 minutes. It is designed to be easy to consume during work and easy to reuse at the moment someone needs help.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI models and agents connect to external tools and data sources through a consistent interface, so the same integration works across different AI clients.

An SRT file is a simple text file that stores subtitles as numbered captions with start and end timestamps. Video players and platforms use it to display timed subtitles that can be turned on or off.

Standard Work is the current best known way to perform a task, documented and followed so results are repeatable. It sets a clear baseline for training, quality, and continuous improvement.

Voice cloning is the process of using AI to generate speech that sounds like a specific person, based on recordings of their voice. It is used to create voiceovers or dubbing in the same vocal identity without rerecording every update.

A walkthrough video is a step-by-step recording that shows someone exactly how to complete a task, usually by demonstrating the actions on screen with narration, captions, or callouts. It is designed to help viewers follow along and repeat the process correctly.

A work instruction is a detailed, step-by-step guide that explains how to complete a specific task correctly, safely, and consistently. It is usually more granular than an SOP and focuses on the exact steps at the point of work.

A workflow is the agreed sequence of steps, responsibilities, and handoffs used to complete a recurring task from start to finish. It defines what happens, in what order, who does it, and what “done” means.
