An assembly manual only has to do one job: get someone from a box of parts to a finished product without help. When it fails, the cost shows up as support tickets, returns and bad reviews. This tool reviews your manual against 8 criteria and shows where to improve first.

Step separation. Each step should show one main action, with clear space between steps. Steps that combine several actions are where people lose their place. This criterion has the highest weight in the score.

Step numbering. Steps should run in one obvious order. Numbering that restarts part-way through, or duplicate numbers, leaves people unsure of where they are.

Parts and hardware list. A list near the start, with quantities, lets someone check that everything is in the box before they begin. It's also how they find out early that a part is missing.

Part labels in steps. Each step should use the same IDs as the parts list. Look-alike screws are a common cause of mistakes, and a label is the simplest way to prevent them.

Movement arrows. A drawing of a finished position doesn't show how a part got there. Arrows show direction, rotation and order, especially for anything that slides, folds or locks.

Text density. Long paragraphs are hard to follow with a tool in your hand. If a step needs a paragraph to explain, it probably needs to be split or redrawn.

Visual consistency. One drawing style and consistent viewing angles help people recognize the same part from one step to the next.

Multilingual readiness. The more a reader can follow from the drawings alone, the fewer translations you need and the wider your market can be. This criterion has the lowest weight, since not every product needs it.

How the score works. AI grades each criterion on a fixed scale, and the overall score is a weighted average calculated from those grades. Results are saved against the file, so uploading the same PDF again gives you the same report. Treat the score as a guide to where to look first, because it's an AI review and it can make mistakes.

Using the results. Start with the 3 steps listed as most likely to cause support tickets. Compare them with your actual ticket data if you have it. Fixes for these steps tend to matter more than improving a score on paper.
